Aquaproof Reactive Spray/Roll (18kg)

A ready-to-use waterproofing product based on pure polymer resins. It can be applied to dry and damp substrates and is suitable for treating expansion joints, foundations and basement walls. It is ATG and ETA certified.

AQUAPROOF REACTIVE is immediately rainproof, meaning unexpected weather conditions can no longer spoil the fun.

The product is available for the Cyprus market in 18kg buckets for spray and roll applications.

AQUAPROOF REACTIVE is a cutting-edge, solvent-free, polymer-based coating engineered to provide a durable and elastic watertight membrane. This versatile solution can be applied using airless spray equipment, rollers, or brushes, offering flexibility for various project requirements.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Effective Waterproofing: AQUAPROOF REACTIVE is specifically formulated to prevent water penetration, protecting substrates from moisture damage.
  • Elastic Membrane Formation: Upon drying, AQUAPROOF REACTIVE creates a flexible membrane that can accommodate minor substrate movements, reducing the risk of cracking and maintaining its watertight seal.
  • Versatile Application: Suitable for application by airless spray, roller, or paintbrush, providing adaptability for different project scales and complexities.
  • Solvent-Free Formulation: The absence of solvents makes AQUAPROOF REACTIVE a more environmentally friendly and user-safe option.

Intended Use

AQUAPROOF REACTIVE is designed for waterproofing surfaces in various applications, including:

  • Surfaces not continuously exposed to standing water, hydrostatic pressure, or rising damp.
  • Waterproofing under tiles in areas like terraces and balconies.
  • Building foundations.
  • Floors in wet rooms and balconies before the application of cement-based screeds or tiles.

Suitable Substrates

AQUAPROOF REACTIVE exhibits excellent adhesion to a variety of common construction materials:

Concrete.

Bricks.

  • Cement-based coatings and plasters.
  • Silicate stone.
  • Exterior-grade plywood and other wood panels.
  • For applications on plasterboards, plaster-based materials, or natural stone, the use of PRIMER 43 is required to ensure proper adhesion.

Application Guidelines

Proper surface preparation and application are crucial for optimal performance. Follow these guidelines carefully:

1. Surface Preparation:

  • Ensure surfaces are clean and free from dust, loose material, surface efflorescence, standing water, and any contaminants that may hinder adhesion.
  • Verify that surfaces are structurally sound and dry.
  • Seal any gaps or joints wider than 1mm with a fast-setting, cement-based repair mortar.
  • Application over existing tile floors is possible only if the tiles are well-adhered and the surface is roughened to improve bonding.
  • Apply PRIMER 43 to porous surfaces to regulate absorption and enhance adhesion.
  • Maintain an application and drying temperature above 5°C.

2. AQUAPROOF REACTIVE application:

  • Thoroughly mix before application. Do not dilute the product with water or solvents.
  • Apply in two coats using an airless sprayer, roller, or brush. Apply the first coat in one direction and the second coat in a perpendicular (crosswise) direction after the first coat has set.
  • Achieve a total minimum consumption of 1 kg/m², equivalent to a 1000-micron wet film thickness. Use a wet film gauge to verify the wet thickness and ensure complete coverage.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation for interior applications to promote proper curing.
  • Clean tools with water immediately after application.
  • AQUAPROOF REACTIVE exhibits resistance to low concentrations of chlorine and calcium in water, as well as to standard household cleaning products.

3. Finishing:

  • Allow the product to dry completely before applying a finish layer, such as floor tiles. The complete drying time is approximately 3 days, but it can vary depending on environmental conditions (temperature, humidity).
  • Use cement glue (class C2) or dispersion glue (class D2TE) conforming to EN 12004 standards for tiling
